About cofound.org

cofound.org is a product of UM Startup Weekend, hosted by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The site evolved out of a concept pitched by Kyle Mulka, in which he discussed this monumental hurdle in the venture creation process. Proximity and mutual skill sets of interest are two key components to an effective team – components that we contend are lacking in today’s offerings.

Within the course of a single weekend, cofound.org launched as a matching platform based on these very criteria. Dubbed a “dating site for cofounders,” the site builds on the principles of social networks to help entrepreneurs find the right mix of talent to begin a startup. The goal of the site is to enable the creation of strong partnerships by connecting people with complimentary skill sets, interests, and personalities, even if they have yet to decide on a specific venture to pursue.
